May 2010 Newsletter - Subject of the Month

“Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” [Mark 10:21]
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” [Matthew 16:26]
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have Eternal Life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” [I John 5:13]
“And he--he--he was well equipped for life, the way his father and mother, and the priests and all of them, had equipped him, but still he knowed he was lacking something. Now I'm talking to the adults. He, he knowed he was lacking something here. He didn't have Eternal Life. He knew it. See?  Religion won't produce Eternal Life. Forms, sensation, you feel something; you--you could get scared, and feel something. See? Crying, that's good; shouting, that's good; but that still ain't It, see. You are confronted with Eternal Life. You say, "Well, I have been just a staunch Baptist, Methodist, or Presbyterian, or Pentecostal." That still isn't the question. This young man was, too, he was taught in the religion of the day, but he still didn't have Eternal Life, so he wanted to know what to do. He had been guided successful, to This. But when he was confronted with It, he refused to be guided to Eternal Life, or to be led. His other leaders had had such a hold on him until he didn't want to turn it loose.” [Leadership, Prescott AZ, 65-1031A]
“But Jesus knew that, and knew that he had hoarded this money, and He said, "Go sell all you got, and give it to the poor. And come, take up your cross and follow Me, and you'll have treasures in Heaven." But he couldn't do it. The other leaders that he had in his youthful days, had such an influence on him till he refused to accept God's provided Way, which was Jesus Christ; the only One who holds Eternal Life, the only One that can give you It. Not the church can give you Eternal Life; not your neighbor; not your pastor; not your priest; not your creed; only Jesus Christ Himself can give you Eternal Life. No matter how good you are, what you quit doing, what you start doing, you've got to accept the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. And then when you do that, He is the Word, and then your life fits right in the Word and it manifests itself to this age that you're living in.” [Leadership, Covina CA, 65-1207]
“And you know, that there were some of the borderline believers that stood close, and listened, halfway believed it, probably like the rich young ruler. But they said, "We better go up. We know he was a good old man. And if there would come such a thing, we'll be standing close, where we can get... Oh, we can get right in, he will open the door." But remember, Noah had no way of opening the door. Don't you borderline with God. Don't you just be a good man or a good woman. You be filled with the Holy Ghost, baptized into the Body by the Holy Ghost. Don't take no hearsay nothing about it. Stay there until you're dead, and your life is new in Christ, and your whole life is changed. Just don't take an emotion, a sensation, or some... Don't do that. Stay there until something actually happens that changes you completely.” [Investments, Shreveport LA, 62-1124B]
“No matter how rich you might be, no matter how popular you might be, no matter who you might be, the greatest thing there is that any man can achieve in this earth, is to achieve Eternal Life. Though you be king and potentate, though you rule the world for a million years as king and young men, and you fail to find Eternal Life, you've lost the greatest thing that anyone could lose.” [Thirsting For Life, Phoenix AZ, 60-0304]
“There's a choosing, and we choose for ourselves. We choose something that's for our own good. But Moses chose the afflictions and the disgrace, that he might walk with the people of God. Think of it, now. Listen to it: "Chose the afflictions of the people of God and counted it a greater treasure, for he endured seeing Him Who was invisibly." Now Lot, one time, had to make a choice. And it may be this morning, that there'll be men and women setting here, that'll make your final choice. You are today what you are, because several years ago you chose to be what you are now. And what you choose now, will determine what you'll be five years from today. Five years from today you may be a missionary. Five years from today you may be a renown Christian. Or five years from today you may be in hell, because you made the wrong decision. Five years from today you may be cleaning spittoons in a barroom. Five years from today you may be a prostitute on the street. Or you may be a man or a woman, that's a--that's a credit to any society, because of your choice for Christ. Five years from today you may be in glory, gone in the rapture, because you made your choice today. But you've got to choose. And don't look at what you see; choose what you see by faith. That's the only thing that will count, is what you choose by faith.”  [By Faith Moses, Jeffersonville, IN 58-0720M]
“I've often said if I can be a young man of twenty-five years old, if God would appear on the platform tonight, and say, "I will turn you to twenty-five years of age. There you'll remain for a million years, and I'll make you the king over all the universe. Everything will be at your command. Or I'll give you a hundred years of misery and woe, and trouble, and sorrow, but at the end of that hundred years, I'll give you Eternal Life. But the end of the million years, you are lost." Oh, I'd say, "Lord God, I don't have to wait any longer to make my choice. Let me have the hundred years of misery and woe, any kind of a death that you choose for me to die, only, Lord, give me Eternal Life. For though I own the whole world and was king for a million years, at the end of that million years, I become a hell bound creature for eternity. But no matter how bad my lot is here, at the end of my life, if I've got Eternal Life, I live on in the blessed Presence of God forever and forever." “ [Thirsting For Life, Phoenix AZ, 60-0304]
“What do you think that makes us feel today as Christians to see even the picture of Him? And I have one now that outstands that by hundreds of times. But that same Jehovah God has sent His Light, before the coming of His Son the second time to lead us, to comfort us, and to bring us into that Fountain, that we may wash from our sins and be clean in the righteousness of His Son the Lord Jesus, and become sons and daughters of God, borned anew by the Spirit of God, which changes. A birth means we have been changed from our thinking, changed from our attitudes, changed by something that took place inside. There's not a religion in the world; there's not enough water; there's not enough ceremonies or sermons that could change you. It takes the Blood of God's Son Jesus Christ. You could no more clean yourself by joining church, than a leopard could lick his spots off of him. The more he licks, the brighter they get. He only shows them up. By joining churches and trying to do merits of your own, you just show your lack of hunger on the inside, something that hasn't been filled yet. Quit trying; just receive Him, He leads you to the Light.” [Where Is He King Of The Jews, Jeffersonville, IN, 58-1221M]
Now let us all, tonight, check our desires, and then you can see what kind of a filter you've been drawing through. Let's check, each one of us, here and out across the nation. Check your desires, what you want really in life. Check what you're fighting for. Check what you're here for. Check what you go to church for. It's good to go to church, but just don't go to church only; that won't save you. See? Just check just a few minutes, say, "Is my objective... What--what kind of a filter am I drawing through, anyhow?" And if you won't cope with the Word of God, and your soul don't do it, then there's something wrong; for it shows up your taste, that the life... what kind of a life is in you. If it's a holy, discreet, honorable, it'll come out that way. If it isn't, you've got another taste in you you're drawing from. That's exactly right. And if the taste is the Word of God and the will of God, then you know what's in you, what's drawing the taste. Shows you are a part of that Word. That Word is in you, drawing from the Word.” [A Thinking Man's Filter, Jeffersonville, IN, 65-0822E]
“Lead us, Lord, to Life Eternal. I pray that You will grant that we can come together many more times, on earth, and speak of Thee and talk of Thee. And then in that great Day, when the world is finished and all the time has faded into Eternity, may we meet in that great Kingdom, as unbroken families, to live together hereafter forever. Grant it, Lord. Until then, may we work, labor with all of our might, while the sun is still shining. For we ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen.” [Leadership, Prescott AZ, 65-1031A]
Our Bible Study Subject for May 2010: One Thing Thou Lackest
We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ himself will lead you to Eternal Life. The greatest thing you can ever achieve on earth. He is the only One who holds Eternal Life, the only One who can give you.
